The White Gold of Mithila
For centuries, the wetland farmers of Mithila have harvested makhana by hand from the sacred ponds of Bihar. Rising before dawn, wading into still water, collecting lotus seeds one by one — it is one of India’s oldest food traditions.
At Satvia Pure, we bring this harvest directly to your table. No middlemen. No cold storage. No compromise.
Why Our Makhana is Different
Most makhana sold in India is a mixed grade — small, medium and large seeds blended together to cut costs. We source exclusively 5-6 suta grade — the largest, most uniform and most nutritious grade available from the Mithila region.
Uniform size means:
- → Even roasting every single time
- → Better crunch and texture
- → Richer, more authentic flavour
- → No small broken pieces at the bottom of the pack
From Pond to Pouch
Our makhana travels the shortest possible route — from Mithila farmers directly to our facility in Bihar, graded, quality checked and sealed fresh. Every batch is FSSAI certified before packing.
What you get in every pack:
- → 100g of premium 5-6 suta grade makhana
- → Food grade zip-lock pouch — reseals perfectly
- → Silica gel sachet — keeps moisture out
- → Freshness sealed on the day of packing

How to Use
Dry Roasted Makhana
Heat a thick pan on low flame. Add makhana with no oil. Stir continuously for 8 to 10 minutes until crisp. Season with rock salt, black pepper or chaat masala. Cool for 20 minutes before eating for maximum crunch.
Makhana Kheer
Lightly roast in a teaspoon of ghee until fragrant. Add to warm full cream milk with sugar and cardamom. Simmer for 15 minutes. A traditional Bihar recipe made in every home during festivals and after childbirth for centuries.
Makhana Curry
Add raw makhana to your favourite gravy in the last 5 minutes of cooking. Absorbs flavour beautifully without losing texture.
Storage Instructions
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, press the zip-lock firmly shut after every use. Place the silica gel sachet back inside before resealing. Best consumed within 3 months of opening. Do not refrigerate.
